Join award-winning trip operator, African Travel Seminars, on this cultural & historical group trip through some amazing parts of South Africa. You’ll visit the beautiful cities of Cape Town, Sun City, and Pretoria, and the bustling city of Johannesburg. You’ll enjoy a cultural and historical tour of South Africa and gain a good understanding of South Africa before, during and post-Apartheid.
In and around Johannesburg, you’ll visit Soweto townships, the Apartheid Museum, Hector Pieterson Memorial, and other locations connected to the Apartheid resistance. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit and help out at an orphanage. Not far from Johannesburg is Sun City where you’ll get the chance to spot the Big 5 on a wildlife safari and stop by a casinos to try your luck.
Next, you’ll head to Capetown for a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, a city tour including a stop in the colorful Malay Quarter (Bo-Kaap), a visit to a winery for tastings, and a stop at South Africa’s largest Jewelry manufacturers. No visit to Capetown would be complete without a visit to the District Six Museum and Robben Island to pay respect to all those who fought to end Apartheid.
Other highlights include a drive to Cape of Good Hope and a cruise to Seal Island for more wildlife spotting.
