Join award-winning trip operator, African Travel Seminars, on this cultural & historical group trip through some amazing parts of Ghana. This trip will allow you to experience black African history, culture, food, village life, and authentic festivals. You’ll start in Accra with a welcome dinner complete with drumming and dancing. After a restful night, you’ll hit the city and have the opportunity to visit the WEB DuBois Center, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Museum, the Black Star Square, local markets, and much more. We’ve saved some time for you to have a highly unique experience at the Fantasy Coffin studio- you have to see it to believe it!
Your trip will also take you to the Cape Coast area for a sobering experience at Elmina Castle, a private museum visit, an engaging dinner dialogue with an area expert, and a canopy walk through Kakum National Park. Here, you’ll be staying at a beach resort for some time to soak up the sun!
No trip to Ghana would be complete without a visit to Kumasi- home of the Ashanti Kingdom. You’ll see the King’s Palace, craft villages to see kente cloth making & wood carving, and a cloth stamping workshop for souvenirs to take home.
You’ll head back to Accra for some last-minute shopping and a taste or two of the famous Accra nightlife.
